China’s first Nobel prize winner, Mo Yan, has been the most popular writer for the movie director, His novels have been adapted into movies in the screen their prowess, and caused widespread attention in the community. Nowadays, along with the dissemination of visual culture carrier in the film as the representative of the popular culture is constantly expanding trend, This paper uses the relevant theories of Hermeneutics and narrative analysis, film elements in Mo Yan’s novels, and its specific adaptation of the film as an example, discusses the aesthetic characteristics of the film adaptation of the novel, and further analyses the factors of success and failure. The full text is divided into five parts:The introduction part briefly introduces the basic situation and characteristics of Mo Yan’s film adaptation of the movie, and then defines the meaning and value of this study. The first chapter explains in the film under the impact of the tide at that time, the creation of Mo Yan’s novels appeared visualizing tendency. Like the structure, plot, dramatic montage, lens of the language together constitute the elements of film in the narrative of Mo Yan s novels. The second chapter focuses on Novels and films as two different art media, to achieve aesthetic transition from text to images, movies from the aspects of the conflict, characters, aesthetic tendencies, and other novel features of the narrative has been re-interpretation of works from different angles, different analysis the film adaptation of the novels strategies. The third chapter mainly analyzes the key factors influencing the novel by Mo Yan and the adaptation of the success and failure, gain and loss. In the spring tide of market economy, film maker’s attitude and the pursuit of art, the audience acceptance of the text and the strict censorship of movies; Thus Mo Yan’s novels not only have the opportunity in the film adaptation process, have many successful local; but also exists the challenge, has some shortcomings. In the conclusion part, based on further analysis of the novel and the film the respective artistic characteristics, pointed out that the two were each one has his good points. It is only to learn from each other, give full play to their strengths, to keep balance between literature and market, and form a benign interaction, to achieve mutual benefit and make this interaction win-win.
