Teaching design for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages is not only apart of the preparatory work for teachers to achieve teaching goal and completeteaching task, but also a basic premise for them to combine teaching theory andteaching practice. Outstanding instructional design can correctly guide teachers toplan the whole teaching activity in details, and orderly implement the plan in order toenhance Chinese-language learners’ ability to use Chinese in the progress ofcommunication. The Constructivism Theory derived from the Theory of CognitiveDevelopment; thus, it can profoundly indicate universal human learning process.Moreover, the teaching mode of the Constructivism Theory emphasizesstudent-centered and teacher-led mode and the importance of the use of context,collaboration, communication and other learning environmental factors in order thatChinese-language learners can regard their existing knowledge and experience as agrowing point of new knowledge, and finally achieve the ultimate goal of theconstruction of meaning under the dual role of old and new knowledge. From this, theConstructivism Theory is especially suitable for the advanced stage of teachingChinese as a second language.In the process of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, teachingChinese Comprehensive Course can be described as the most important one; thediversity property of teaching contents poses a great challenge to Chinese-languageteachers. How to combine relevant teaching theory and teaching practice is a decisiveand significant factor of improving Chinese-language learners ‘ability tocommunicate in Chinese in daily life. Therefore, instructional design for ChineseComprehensive Course is particularly critical. In this paper, I choose the teachingmaterial "Developing Chinese Advanced Integrated"(II) and the text the Power ofAccumulating Time for detailed and in-depth instructional teaching design. I try toperfectly combine the Constructivism Theory and the teaching design and ideallyoptimize the whole teaching process in order to provide useful information and reference for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.
