Research On The Current Situation Of Teaching Chinese In Informal And Non-formal Education Center, Ranong, Thailand

As continuous communication of Sino-Thai bilateral in political, economical andcultural area and continuous guide of Thai government’s education policies, there area surging number of Chinese tourists travelling to Thai, and the number of learningChinese people increases dramatically. In addition, in order to meet the socialrequirement, learning Chinese is no longer confined to formal educational school, butis also towards to non-formal adult education and training institutions.Thailand adult education commission began as the first year to recruit Chinesevolunteer teachers in2013. Since there are less references in part of the adulteducation commission of Thailand, this thesis bases on author’s experience whenteaching Chinese for the adult education commission in Ranong area, takesadvantages of various methodologies such as questionnaires, interviews, observations,experience summarization, case law, literature and reference methods, etc, conducts aresearch and evaluation of Ranong adult education commission. With teaching andlife experience in Ranong, the author finds that with the fact of the rapid developmentof learning Chinese in adult education, at the same time, there is an obvious shortagein the emphasis of schools, setting of curriculum, quality of teachers, and learningmaterials. Besides, combining with actual local situation, this thesis may give somepossible countermeasures in accordance with its own characteristics of adults for theproblems in teaching Chinese, provide some references for teaching and researchingin adults Chinese, and give some advices for other volunteers in adult Chineseteaching for adult education commission.
