Under the background of the rapid and diverse information dissemination, as therepresentative of the television news commentary programs, news1+1is one of themost important social media, and its influence on the public is comprehensive andprofound. As an important part of the program, negative evaluation is easy tocause the public’s negative emotions and hinder the smooth realization ofcommunication because of its strong negative subjective tendencies. Therefore, thisarticle attempts to investigate and study the negative evaluation in the program news1+1from the perspective of linguistics. The rules of negative evaluation and itsexpression strategy are explored by using the relevant linguistic theories from bothmacro and micro views. The content is divided into the following six parts:The first part is the introduction of this paper. The origin of the topic, the contentand significance of the research, the corpus, and the methods of study are brieflystated. Meanwhile, a simple review of the related research achievements onevaluation, negative evaluation and program news1+1is presented.The second part defines the negative evaluation clearly based on differentiationbetween evaluation and comment on the concepts. At the same time, the negativeevaluation in news1+1is divided into direct and indirect negative evaluation.The third part is the description and analysis of the linear process of negativeevaluation in news1+1. Firstly, the various elements involved in the processof negative evaluation are analyzed, and on this basis, a universal linear expression isestablished. Then, combined with the corpus and the related principles of pragmatics,the main combined model of negative evaluation are summarized and analyzed.The fourth part is the further analysis of two types of negative evaluation fromthe perspective of linguistics. Its ways of realization, the forms of expression and characteristics are investigated in order to explore the uniqueness of negativeevaluation.The fifth part is the summary and sublimation of the strategy of negativeevaluation in the program news1+1based on the research above in order to providesome help for people to communicate smoothly or complete the native or secondlanguage teaching.The sixth part is the conclusion of this article, mainly including the summary ofthesis. The shortcomings and limitations of the paper are pointed out at the same time.
