The Study On Negative Comments Of Han Yu And His Proses

As the head of the "Eight Great Men of Letters of the Tang and Song Dynasties",it's obvious that Han Yu has very important position in the history of ancient Chinese literature.Su Shi said that "Han Yu's article inspired the Decline of the Eight Generations",and Liu Xizai praised Han Yu's prose as "a real comprehensive expression of the Eight generations".Two people of different ages gave Han Yu a high appraisal.However,from the Middle Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China,Han Yu's prose has also suffered many negative comments.This article is divided into five parts to study on the negative evaluation of Han Yu's prose.The first chapter discusses the negative evaluation of Han Yu's moral quality in three aspects.First,from the Song Dynasty to the Republic of China,scholars constantly criticized Han Yu for not being contented in poverty.Second,because Han Yu wrote a large number of epitaphs.Critics claim those epitaphs are the "Tomb of the Tomb" Third,many critics criticized Han Yu for his words are not matched by deeds.This is specifically reflected in the two aspects of taking medicine and indulging in beauty.I believe that by analyzing the Han Yu's essay and examining the background of his and critics' times,Han Yu is not confined to wealth.His epitaphs "don't hide the shortcoming,non-obliterative grave mourner".Whether or not taking medicine and indulging in beauty has not been conclusive in the academic world.Therefore,it is necessary to find more forceful evidence to reveal this mystery.The second chapter discusses the problem of Han Yu's "inflow to heresy without knowing it".Han Yu's life was based on revival of Confucianism and the rejection of Buddha Taoism.However,many commentators still proposed negative opinions.These negative evaluations are mainly reflected in two aspects:First,although Han Yu highly advocated to argue against Buddhism,there are different connections between Han Yu and Buddhism on different levels.Second,Han Yu's rejection of Buddha's and Taoism is merely a superficial.He has not studied on the Buddhism Classical books deeply,which fundamentally knocked down the Buddhism and Taoism.The third chapter discusses Han Yu's problem of "seperating the Text and the Tao".Han Yu has always claimed himself as the heir of the Confucian Orthodox.However,as far as the ancient literary theory is concerned,many critics believe that Han Yu "does not know about Tao" and criticizes Han Yu's "seperating the Text and the Tao".After studying the development of Han Yu's concept of Text and Tao and the relationship between ancient literary tract and Taoism.I believe that although Han Yu did not have a profound understanding of "Tao",his ancient proses did not always empty talk on morality,and he did not seperate the Text and Tao.The fourth chapter analyzes the critics' criticism of Han Yu's "Writing for Fun".The aesthetic styles of different ages are not the same,therefore,the evaluation on Han Yu of"Writing for Fun" also presents two completely opposite views.Which can be confirmed is that Han Yu has created a large number of "Writing for Fun" works,the "Writing for Fun" works created by Han Yu began to emphasize the aesthetic function of literature,and enriched the ancient Chinese literary theory.The last chapter studys on the style and grammar in Han Yu's prose.This chapter discusses the literary critics of Han Yu's essay and grammar in terms of improper use of words,the lacking of logic,the less power compared to the Qin and Han dynasty,narrative of discourses,and "the death of the ancient text from Han".It is undeniable that there are many problems in Han Yu's proses.Such as misuse and lacking of logic.However,Han Yu has paid great attention to the literary momentum and developed ancient styles and grammar.All in all,many of these negative evaluations are justified,but some of them are unrealistic at the same time.In any case,these evaluations are profoundly instructive for us to have an in-depth understanding of Han Yu and his prose.
