Japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki, this name is not strange forus, he used his unique storytelling and quiet far-reaching Miyazaki style,leading us and play the role of grow up together, from the1968"solar PrinceHolls adventure" to the2008"cliff goldfish", the nineteen part works broughtanimation master reputation as director, but also for the Japanese animationhas set many miracles.Hayao Miyazaki animated film to create new styles shape the way manydimensional personality character, left a very deep impression in the hearts ofthe audience, these characters not only become the adult and children sharedmemory, also make their own fresh life in a story context. Generally speaking,the role of three-dimensional shape manipulation off speech and actioncategory, Hayao Miyazaki obviously very good at grasp these twocharacteristics, therefore every movie, always can cause the public to play therole of research and discussion. However, in these animated characters, butthere are a group of not using lines expression of thoughts, emotional role, theaudience can not through discourse feel their inner world, can only rely onother animated elements for scrutiny, perhaps because of awareness andunderstanding of the way more focus on visual effect and feeling, will producethe unique charm not substituted. This research is for the Hayao Miyazakishaped the way to investigate the role of no lines, attempts to analyze how thedirector showed no lines character, function and its significance andcontribution to the field of animation in the works. This thesis is divided into six chapters. the first chapter is the introduction.State the research purpose and meaning, research status at home and abroad,research methods, research content. Second chapter carries on the literaturereview, lay particular stress on review of previous related research papers andmonographs, and collates the Japanese animation development, the relatedresearch of Hayao Miyazaki animation character shape, as a foundation for thesubsequent role analysis. Chapter3and chapter4for the key part of this paper,respectively from two aspects: no lines role appearance and function analysisHayao Miyazaki character personality, to explore without lines of charactercharm. The fifth chapter is conclusion, by summarizing chapters, this paperhighlights no lines for the role of special features and value, combing the roletypes have any impact on the animation and contribution, look forward toenriching the connotation of the technique of Hayao Miyazaki animation filmcharacters, lines and to find the position in the field of animation role.
