The Investigation And Research On Shenchi Daoqing

Being a Daoqing branch of north Shanxi, Daoqing of Shenchi is avery typical drama performance in Xinzhou district; it develops in thisarea and spreads in some parts of Shan’an xi and Inner Mongoliaprovinces. Its history, various sources and abundant contents makeShenchi Daoqing a heritage in China’s traditional dramas. Among allthe115types of Daoqing in China, only19kinds of dramatic Daoqingare left; as one of these rarely dramatic Daoqing, Shenchi Daoqing’svalue need to be protected and researched. By making these efforts,not only Daoqing art, but also the histories of China’s dramas andoperas are enriched and developed, which are essential for theChina’s traditional culture.This essay mainly focuses on the developments, features of music,list of plays and scripts, artists and troupes and protections ofShenchi Daoqing. In the introduction section, the literature review ofnorth Shanxi Daoqing, the research objectives and gaps this articlecan fill are displayed. the development history of Shenchi Daoqing isresearched; comprehensive researches on the sources of music and characteristics of Shenchi Daoqing are made; plays and scripts ofShenchi Daoqing are collected and analysed, and the contents,characters, stories and language applications are all discussed;important artists and troupes in promoting the development ofShenchi Daoqing are mentioned, especially the contributions andachievements of two outstanding artists Zhaopeng Wu and FenglanHuang; social environments, growth difficulties and protectionmeasures from government are introduced, and in terms of theseaspects, some suggestions and solutions are provided to theimprovement of Shenchi Daoqing in this essay.Shenchi Daoqing is a treasure of China’s traditional culture, sinceit is included in the national intangible cultural heritage list in2011,its art performance, protection and development are widelyconcerned by the academic circle. Based on the field researches andliterature reviews, this article studies the sources, heritages,innovations and developments of Shenchi Daoqing in order to makesome contributions to this valuable dramatic performance.
