Mark Hambourg(Mark Hambourg1879-1960)is a great pianist.He was famous for the greatestmusician in the twentieth Century.He has a special status in the history of the development ofpiano performance.His great achievements are undoubted,in the piano teaching and he has acomplete set of teaching philosophy.However,in China piano world except a less ofexperts,many people still know little about Hambourg’s study.This paper firstly summarizes the artistic of Hambourg,secondly focuses on the Hambourg’spiano recital in glorious history of art,then carries on the detailed elaboration on the idea ofteaching the piano.The author hopes that a preliminary study on the concept of teaching art and piano playing onthe piano through the leading of this thesis,so that people can have a better understanding ofhim,and realized he occupies the position of pilay a decisive role in the history of thedevelopment of piano playing.
