Solidification Virtues:Xishuangbanna Dai Traditional Houses Ethics Perspective

Yunnan is Xishuangbanna Dai-populated areas, which was built in the Dai Village they also has their own unique requirements. Generally, Dai village will be built in the dam, they "Living behind river, Builting behind trees", showing a kind of garden-style living, a square and some pagodas in the stockade, while outside the stockade has a sacred wells and Zuxian Lin. Dai people’s living environment is not only a form of reactions of their culture, but also a kind of virtue of Dai people carrier, it is the life experience of the application that they get along with nature constantly. This paper would like to throught the method of ethics to analyze Daijiazhulou and Dai people living environment, showing cultural attitudes in Dai houses.Dai people respect nature, they establish a deep affection to forest and water they will be divided into three categories of forest, a class is used to prevent soil erosion; a class of construction material for providing family man; a class of water conservation.Dai people would like temperance their desire, they control their use of building materials and choice, to the maximum extent of savings given the nature of their material wealth. Bamboo as a short growth cycle and facilitates the use of the construction material, has been widely utilized by Dai people.Dai has harmony virtue and they make these family virtue into the bamboo house building. Daijiazhulou is the material support of their families, which fully reflects the Dai people longing for family harmony, they are according to seniority to the arranged seating, selection order bedroom and bed,the men and women have equal right in the family home, all of those embodies family harmony.Dai people admire the God, love compatriots, they establish a link between man and God,between people.The sared trees become their ancestral home,the sacred tree as their bridge to communicate with their ancestors,and well not only create the space and time for the interaction between people,but also provide a medium between God and man.
