Shin Gyeong-Rim (1935-) is one of the most representative poets of South Koreans in the 1960s-70s. As a large number of peasantry poems with the characteristic of popular literature are included in his early poetry anthology "Peasantry dance", it is very significant in the history of the South Korean modern literature. In the 1960s-70s, as on the one hand, South Korean countryside was suffering for various social contradictions left over by the Japanese colonialism, and one the other hand the national development policy was turning to industrialization, the phenomenon of abandoning agriculture following was more and more serious, the rural population decreased dramatically, and the rural society tended to be collapsed and deserted gradually.Poems included in "Peasantry dance" mainly reflect the peasant’s frustration and the resulting sorrow in the wave of industrialization. At the same time, a part of psalmas take the miners and the urban poor struggling as a lyric objects, thus it has the nature of narrative poetry. Shin Gyeong-Rim’s poetry shortens the distance with people, witch describes the life of peasants in the edge of the progress of modernization vividly by using the common language and realistic way. So, "Peasantry dance" was worthy of being rated as the poetry that intensively represented the public mood in the 1960s-70s.So far, the previous studies of "Peasantry dance" are mostly stay in the research of the style, the image, the types of characters and the space. However, relatively speaking, due to lack of research on analyzing the internal structure of the poetry, there needs further research on this aspect. This article reviews Shin Gyeong-Rim’s early poetry anthology "Peasantry dance", then emphatically analyzes the language, techniques, and the internal structure of the poem on the basis of discussing individual poetics and topic consciousness witch Shin Gyeong-Rim integrated into the poetry.First, with the organically joint help of research methods of literature and art, such as social-historic criticism method, formalism criticism method and modern poetics, this article analyzes the major works of poetry anthology "Peasantry dance" concretely to analyze its entire framework as well as the inherent glamour.Second, although, there are plentiful studies about Shin Gyeong-Rim’s life up to now, it is still necessary to review his home environment and life experience. As the time witch the poet lived in was just the great transition of the modern history of the South Korea, there must be necessary correlation between historical circumstances and the formation of the poet’s poetics. Reading the poet’s spiritual trace at first will provide essential and favorable prerequisite to analyze the connotation of the poems.Third, by continuous self-reflection, Shin Gyeong-Rim investigated the people’s life at that time, firmly grasped the spectacular change of the time, and also didn’t abandon the critical awareness for the ruling class as well as the unreasonable social factors caused by it. These thoughts are all reflected in "Peasantry dance", witch effectively builds a new artistic conception that poets faced reality in the context of the changing time.Fourth, taking most of the poems in the poetry as text, by classifying and analyzing its content in detail, could be valuable to systematic study of "Peasantry dance". It’s a shortcut to the nature of Shin Gyeong Rim’s poetry to remove external factors and use the narrators, narrative style, language features of poetry to study the poetry language, techniques and internal structures of "Peasantry dance".That is to say, by understanding history and reality exactly, the poet portrayed the distortion and deformation country life in the process of industrialization as well as people’s emotions in the "Peasantry dance" vividly.
