The translation material of this paper is selected from the two chapters of The Eleventh Day:The Full Story of9/11and Osama Bin Laden. With the development of globalization, terrorism is increasingly developing, which threats the national security and the peaceful, orderly development all over the world. Since the9/11incident of the United States, people all over the world have been afraid of talking about "terrorism", and in recent10years, terrorism has become a hot topic in the international society as well. The whole world still has a long way to go before coming up with a solution as to how to prevent and combat with terrorism and terrorist activities. The translation for the part of this book, leads the reader to explore the truth of9/11incident behind the official explanation. There are two main purposes for selecting this book as translation material:first, in recent years, terrorism sabotage in China continues to grow, and even in a rampant way. Translating the materials of this kind of topic is intended to promote the awareness of the Chinese readers to terrorism and develop their determination against it, which provides the translation project with its practical social significance; second, selecting this book with its interdisciplinary perspective,(including civil engineering, electronic technology and aerospace, etc.) as translation materials bring many difficulties to the translator for the translation practice, and meanwhile they help the translator to a higher level of understanding and grasping both the Chinese and English languages. The paper is divided into two parts:(1) Translation. Through the analysis of the text and under the guidance of the communicative translation theory, the author completes the translation work by adopting the translation strategies of omission, amplification, reconstruction, passivity vs. activity and so on;(2) The translation report. This report mainly focuses on the translation difficulties during the translation process and the solution to those problems.
