This study uses quantitative research methods to investigate Chinese learning strategies of foreign students by questionnaire and class observation to analysis the whole use of language learning strategies in the target language environment. Age, gender, nationality, motivation and the time Chinese learning will be taken into consideration. According to the results, the Author puts forward some relevant Suggestions and inspirations to improve Chinese teaching and students’ autonomous learning.This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter elaborates the background and significance of this study from the views the influence of Chinese around the world, student-centered teaching concept and the importance of language learning strategies. The second chapter summarizes the definitions, classifications of the related concepts and overview of the research status of language learning strategies at home and abroad. The third chapter illustrates the general design and research method of this study, including the design and illustration about questionnaire, the information of subjects, research tools, and the method of data processing. The fourth chapter carries on the descriptive analysis and variance analysis to the data by using SPSS19.0software, and the analysis results are described and discussed. The fifth chapter is conclusion, summing up the study found, puts forward some relevant Suggestions and inspirations to improve Chinese teaching and students’ autonomous learning. Point out the shortage of the study and further ideas as well.The study found that:(1) the frequency order of the strategies using:social strategies, metacognitive strategies, cognitive strategies, memory strategies, compensation strategies, affective strategies. Social strategies and metacognitive strategies are used most.(2) The youngers use strategies more actively than the old.(3) Gender will affect the use of learning strategies, women use learning strategies more positively than men.(4) The students of southeast Asian nations use strategies more positively. The use of different nationalities in points strategy exist significant differences.(5) There are significant differences between Chinese beginners and skilled in the use of learning strategies. The use of learning strategies will be more positive with the passage of time.(6)The Strategies are regular in class and the teaching methods will affect the use of the learning strategies.Due to the limitation of time and ability, there are still many shortcomings in this study. In the later study, the author hopes to learn statistics systematically and add the qualitative research, apply the results into practice to realize the further research and development of language learning strategies.
