A Study On Expressions Of Degree Category In Dezhou Dialect

The thesis mainly concentrates on the study of the degree category and its expressions in Dezhou dialect. Referred to the research achievements of degree category of mandarin and Chinese dialects which focus on its definition, characteristic and expressions, we analysed and summarized the degree category of Dezhou dialect from those three views:expressions, semantic category and emotion. Then concluded its grades system with those language materials received through local investigation and the author’s experience.The paper describes the facts of the degree category and its expressions in Dezhou dialect from the following three different aspects under the guidance of the semantic grammer theory:morphology, syntax, synthesis method.The morphology part includes three aspects:word formation with affix, the fixed phrases and overlapping. The first part focus on the word formation with those special language affix which express degree meanings in Dezhou dialect. The fixed phrases includes not only those four-characters structure phrases but also idiomatic phrases. Overlapping includes two parts:" adjectives " overlapping and "adverbs+adjectives " overlapping.The syntax part includes three parts:the adverbial of degree,the complement of degree and the fixed format. The adverb of degree includes the degree adverbs and degree pronouns. We emphatically described those characterful degree adverbs of Dezhou dialect which are not used or less used in mandarin such as "gang", "kuai", "xie", "qiao", "leng", "ke", "cheng", "ting", "guai", "hai","tui" and partly studied theirs’ diachronic situation. Then is the research of the complement of degree. We classified and analysised the fixed format in Dezhou dialect at the same time.For the synthesis method part, we focused on the degree-expressional Rhetorical methods,tone and the stress. We mainly works on how they work together to express degree meanings.The study devoted into the combination and the comparative of synchronic study and diachronic study. We aims to summarize the degree category and its expressions in Dezhou dialect widely.We got the conclusion that the numerous expressions of degree can be classified into two parts:degree adverb and complement of degree.the development and situation of degree category in Dezhou dialect verified that those used languages are always connect and affect each other actively among mandarin, Dezhou dialect and others dialects in China.
