The research takes middle school students as objects and employs the compiled middle school students’smart-phone dependence questionnaire to investigates the situation of middle school students’smart-phone dependence. Meanwhile the research analyzes the relationship among middle school students’smart-phone dependence, sensation seeking and self-control, so as to provide a new way from the empirical study, to improve the problem of students’smart-phone dependence and to lead the students to use smart-phone reasonably and appropriately. We obtained result as follows:First, the middle school students’smart-phone dependence could be concluded five dimensions:withdrawal symptom, sense of euphoria, sociability, negative effect and compulsivity;Second, on the whole, the students’smart-phone dependence is in the middle level; about 20% of all respondents tend to depend on smart-phone;Third, smart-phone dependence has significant differences in some demographic variables, such as child status, grade, region, the time of smart-phone use and parenting style, but not exists in gender;Fourth, there is significant positive correlation between the students’smart-phone dependence and the sensation seeking, and the students’sensation seeking would predict their smart-phone dependence significantly;Fifth, there is significant negative correlation between the students’smart-phone dependence and self-control, and the student’ self-control would predict their smart-phone dependence significantly;Sixth, there is significant negative correlation between the students’sensation seeking and self-control, and the sensation seeking would predict their self-control significantly;Seventh, the self-control serves as an intermediary between the sensation seeking and smart-phone dependence.
