Guided by the theory of vocabulary learning strategies and the paper aimed to understand the current situation of the usage of Chinese vocabulary learning strategies of elementary –level Kyrgyzstan student.Through the analysis of the current situation of the usage of Chinese vocabulary learning strategies of elementary-level Kyrgyzstan students, some discoveries can be made. For example,the usage pattern of vocabulary learning strategies in elementary-level Kyrgyzstan students, the relationship between the usage of these strategies and learning efficiency, academic achievement. These discoveries can be used to make suggestions in Kyrgyz students’ Chinese vocabulary learning and teaching.According to the Measurement Table of Gu & Johnson’s vocabulary learning strategies, the author designed a questionnaire considering the student’s actual Chinese vocabulary learning situation. Next, the author used statistical software SPSS18.0 to analyze the questionnaire by ways of reliability analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, mean analysis and so on.Fingdings:1)The strategies which are used most by students are note-oriented strategy, mechanical repetition strategy, selective attention strategy, dictionary-using strategy with the purpose of learning vocabulary, and new words list-using strategy.2)According to usage frequency from high to low, the order of vocabulary learning strategies of elementary-level Kyrgyzstan students in high scores is exercise strategy,note-taking strategies, dictionary-using strategies, metacognitive strategies, coding strategy, guessing strategy. 3)From high to low, the using frequencies of 14 specific strategies of elementary-level Kyrgyzstan students in high scores are usage-oriented notes-taking strategy, selective attention strategy, mechanical repetition strategy, new words list-using strategy, dictionary-using strategy, using the background knowledge to guess the meaning strategy, using language prompts to guess the meaning pre-planned strategy morphology semantic coding.
