A Practice Report On The Translation Of Chinese Medicine Patent

This practice report is to analyze Chinese-English translation of Chinese medicine patent. And this practice report mainly comprises five parts: task description,process description, pre-translation preparation, case analysis and summary. Task description briefly summarizes the source of the text, the main content that needs to be translated and requirements of the task. Process description mainly introduces the three phases of the translation process. Pre-translation is to make preparation before translating such as selecting materials and related literature so as to complete this task successfully. Case analysis is the central part of this practice report. It analyzes the patent translation in detail especially the Chinese medicine patent. The author also gives some examples and explains how to use appropriate translation skills when translating. Meanwhile, attention is paid to the difficulties in the process of translation and proper solutions. Summary gives an overall view of the report. The author summarizes the problems and ways of solving these problems and finally reflects on the translation experience.
