A Study On Kon Satoshi Animation Film-Shuttle In Reality And Fantasy

The Japanese animation master Kon Satoshi is a distinctive one. In many animation directors,someone to do animate because it is animation,but Kon Satoshi treat the animation as film. From 1997 to 2010,Kon Satoshi as a director had shooting four animated movie and a TV animation. The first movie Perfect blue(1997) was invited to give a show in Berlin Film Festival out of the competition units. The copyright of Millennium Actress(2002) was bought by Dreamworks, and obtain the global general agent. Millennium Actress won many animation awards,which with Tokyo Godfathers were selected in the first round of 2003 Oscar for best animated feature. Paprika(2006)was selected as the one of the competition film in 63 th Venice Film Festival,and competing for the coveted Golden Lion. Kon Satoshi use his extremely personality means of artistic creation conquered the animation industry,who is known as the backbone of the Japanese animation after Miyazaki Hayao,Mamoru Oshii and Katsuhiro Otomo.First of all,this paper will from Kon Satoshi’s life experience and the influence factors of his creation to discusses and summarizes the different animation director. Kon Satoshi debut as a cartoonist originally,and study with Katsuhiro Otomo. He was influenced by movie,literature,music aspects to form his own unique style. He direct the fist film Perfect blue,and subsequent style is consistent with the concept of reality and fantasy.Secondly,this paper will follow the main line of reality and fantasy, analyzing the four film of Kon Satoshi respectively include text theme,narrative strategy and artistic expressive approaches,which combine the psychoanalysis theory of Sigmund Freud and Lacan Jacaueo. In these film,Susumu hirasawa’s original music makes the film was filled with the infinite vitality and extension of space,also makes the film sends out a strong artistic expression.At last,this paper will combine his animation film works analyzing Japanese culture and its philosophical thinking and reflection. His film is full with thinking of humanity, desire and social civilization. This kind of thinking is derived from the human society, and at the same time in the form of animation film has influence on the society.Admittedly,Kon Satoshi’s film neither influence and popularity of Miyazaki Hayao’s works,nor hollywood high cost and box-office animation. But he was the firstanimation director put such theme to the animation film screen,with his unique lens language profound theme and others different makes himself too remarkable in Japanese film market.
