A Study Of Astafiev’s War Novels From The Perspective Of Culture

As one of the “Three Carriages of Russian Rural Novels”, Victor Petrovich Actafiev has experienced the most catastrophic war of 20 century. The damage of homes, human, and the human nature made him intergrated the thought of eternity, putting forward the torture of the ultimate and the worry of human future into his writing.This paper puts the war novels of Astafiev into the perspective of Russian War Literature and tradition. It is based on the traditional culture of Russian War Literature and the regional characteristic of Siberia, and research the view of war literature,religious connotation. Through reseaching the novel Theshephered boy and the shephered girl and A shooting star from the view of war and religious redemption that contained in the writing of the writer, the thesis aims at discovering of the culture gene and religious element. Actafievinherited the raditional culture of Russian. The national spirit is the strong support of every nation. By studying the characteristic of the roles in Actafiev’s novels, this paper will excavate the female roles of Russian Literaturewhich represent the meaning of hope and rebirth, as well as the saving meanings to men.
