Translation Practice Report On Educational News

With the development of global cultural communication, people have paid moreattention to education and educational news. As the global cultural and educationalexchanges media, educational news translation is becoming more and more important.At president, many universities of our country have strengthened globalcommunication and cooperation and commenced to construct world-renowned high-level universities. Therefore, educational news translation, an important way topromote international education exchanges, has attracted universities extensiveattention. This translation practice report, based on some news of “News Net ofTianjin University”, mainly discusses principles and techniques of educational newstranslation. This report includes the simple introduction, research and summary aboutthe translation practice of educational news. This translation practice report iscomposed by four parts, respectively are translation project description, translationprocess, case analysis and conclusion. The first two parts focus on the translation taskand translation program, etc. Case analysis is the essence of my translation practicereport, mainly discussing educational news characteristics, principles and techniquesof educational news translation. At last, in the conclusion part, I mainly summarizesome principles and techniques about educational news translation and share somefeelings and experiences through the translation project. Due to news characters ofobjectivity and timeliness, translator has to observe the principles of simplicity andaccuracy in the process of translating educational news; there are differences incultural tradition, thinking model and values between China and the West, sotranslator ought to utilize adding and paraphrasing techniques skillfully; translator hasto compile some information to express key news in restricted layout to readers.Translation is a complicated and onerous task, which requires translators must havegood political qualities, professional competence and systematic linguistic languagereserves.
