A Report On News Translation Based On China-related Economic News From Economist

This report is made on news translation based on six China-related articles from the Economist.The report aims to propose strategies in translating news headlines,handling ideological conflict and dealing with complicated sentences.This report incorporates overview of the translation project,specification of translation process,introduction and application of memetics and ideology,and case analysis.In this report,how literal translation and free translation work under the guidance of memetics and ideology is described.Sequence translation is always used together with literal translation.Domestication,amplification,and reverse translation are used together with free translation.In conclusion,through practice,the author has made self-improvement and hopes readers or translation learners can learn from the report.
