In this article, the author starts with the language of dance itself and analyzes her own choreograph of “The Echo of Wu Si Hun River” to discuss the creation of ballet based of revolutionary historical topics and summarize the depiction of characters. From the author’s perspective, ballet play is a very important foundation of elegant, dimensional, and vivid dance art. It has been a tough work for choreographers to express the theme and emotions from the dance language of characters. The article describes the accuracy and uniqueness of character’s personalities which should be analyzed and valued, and the expression of emotions which should be based different identities under various scenes. All these factors will be amplified by the dance itself, shown from breath and rhythms captured by body shape and moving language, and finally achieve the full creation of characters’ images. To be clarified, the discussion of the creation of characters is more based on the analysis of “The Echo of Wu Si Hun River”, and the issue of characters’ images creation will be further practiced and researched from more experience.
