"Su Shu Kan Wu"is one of the important works of the Chinese characters’ code of theMing Dynasty. From the Chinese characters’ code history, the book plays a link role. It hasrich content, the perfect style, the advanced method and the relatively conservative concept."Su Shu Kan Wu"is the main research object of this article. Contrasting with the mainChinese characters’ code works, we explored common feature of"Su Shu Kan Wu",limitations and the basic situation of the Ming dynasty, separately from the style, objects, themethods and the concept.This Paper consists of six parts. The first part is the introduction, summarized theacademic circles’ research status and achievements. Then we expounded the research scope,methods and significance. The first chapter summarized the background of the writing fromthe point of view of the synchronic and diachronic study. The second chapter presented thewriting style of "Su Shu Kan Wu",content and analyzes. Based on the analysis of thevolumes, we summarized styles and the object characteristics. The third chapter analyzed thefirst four volumes at the use of the Chinese characters’ code and role. The fourth chapter is animportant part of this paper. On the basis of source of the Chinese characters, we summed upthe concept of "Su Shu Kan Wu", which is corrected by Liu Shu and not considered by the useof the Chinese characters. Comparing with "Shuo Wen Jie Zi","Gan Lu Zi Shu","Wu JingWen Zi","Xin Jia Jiu Jing Zi Yang","Yu Pian","Lei Pian","Zi Hui","Zheng Zi Tong".The fifthchapter evaluated contributions and limitations of "Su Shu Kan Wu" in the content, methods,concept, etc. from the perspective of the Chinese characters’ code history.Finally,the epiloguesummed up the conclusion of the research content of this paper and the research achievementscomprehensively.
