A Translation Report Of The English Version Of Patent Attorney Act Of Japan

The economic globalization makes China face fierce globe competition. Meanwhile, developed countries create many barriers for China in intellectual property domain. Therefore, China has a strong desire for translating the foreign intellectual property law into Chinese for reference. Under this background,this report using Patent Attorney Act of Japan as the source text.For maintaining integrity of this Law, this translation report applies functional equivalence theory as the theoretical guidance. Based on the four criteria of functional equivalence theory, this report discusses the translation methods and techniques of Patent Attorney Act at the lexical and syntax level.This report is composed of four parts. The first part discusses the background, purpose, significance and structure of the report. The second part introduces the functional equivalence theory and discusses the feasibility of the theory to legislative text translation. The third part is the translation practice of Patent Attorney Act at the lexical and syntax level under the guidance of functional equivalence theory. The last part is the conclusion, in which the translation experiences are summarized and the problems to be solved are proposed.
