A Preliminary Study On The Current Situation And Application Direction Of Japanese-Chinese Machine Translation

In this paper, the research direction is Japanese-Chinese machine translation. With the continuous development of economical society and extensive communication, there is a growing demand for translation. Human translation has been insufficient to meet the demand of the market, therefore, the machine translation as a kind of effective subsidy way, is very important in our life.Currently, the study on English (English-Chinese)online translation study is popular, but the Japanese-Chinese online translation study is relatively lacking. China and Japan are integrated trade partners, what’s more, because of the historical and geographical reasons,there always is a frequent communication between China and Japan. So, the Japanese-Chinese translation market has a huge demand. In order to be able to make better use of online Japanese-Chinese translation, from the current Chinese online translation websites, Baidu, Google, Youdao and Excite online translation websites are selected in this paper. The text to be translated is divided into five areas,science, literature, news, cultural history and daily life. And the analyze the results of translation.The translation errors can be divided into two parts which are vocabulary and grammar. The "Machine Translation system evaluation standard" which was issued in 2006 by the Ministry of Education is used as the main evaluation criteria. Then the translation characteristics and quality of the four online translation website is evaluated. The general problems of Japanese-Chinese online translation website will be roughly summarized, and there is a preliminary exploration for the application direction of Machine Translation, especially Japanese-Chinese online translation.Through these four free online translation results were analyzed and compared, and found that Excite has the integrated translation highest accuracy and compared to Excite, Baidu, Google and proper way the main problem is the Japanese particle translation accuracy is relatively low, cause the entire sentence translation quality is not as Excite. But Google translation has a higher accuracy on professional vocabulary, and the distinctive way of YouDao is its online search translation capability, such as the more famous literary works are the higher accuracy the translation is, but it may be related to copyright issues.This paper argues that the main direction of the current applicable machine translation has three. One is that language model is more fixed text, such as patent translation and weather; The second is artificial modifications after the machine translation, to help translators handle words and term; The third is for just a rough translation.
