The report is written by the author as a translator after finished the translation work of the book Ancient Sichuan:Treasures from a Lost Civilization (experts). The source text is essays concerned about archaeology with many long sentences, especially the attributive clause. In translation process, in the guidance of George Steiner’s fourfold motion in translation, the author managed to solve some translation problem, especially the translation of attributive clauses with some translation methods including Synthesization and Division. Furthermore, the author tried to sum up some translation methods in this report. The report consists of four chapters. Chapter One is an introduction of the project. Chapter Two is an introduction of the source text. In Chapter Three, the author puts her eyes on the description of the translation process and tries to study some cases for the purpose of solving practical translation issues. The last chapter sums up the translation project.
