Attributive clauses have always been an important part of English-Chinese translation.Attributive clauses are often used in sociological texts.Correct use of attributive clauses can help to spread culture and help readers better understand the author's intentions. The differences in structure and expression habits between English and Chinese lead to similarities and differences between English and Chinese attributive clauses. Therefore, for the translation of attributive clauses,we should not only accurately understand the content of the original text, analyze the importance of the main clause and the subordinate clause, but also adopt different translation strategies according to the context to ensure the quality of the translation. There are few studies on attributive clauses in English and Chinese sociology. The author translates the book Social Cognition and writes the translation practice report according to the problems in the process of translation. This translation practice report begins with a brief introduction of translation tasks and translation process, followed by a detailed case study, including an overview of attributive clauses and classification of attributive clauses, and the translation methods of attributive clauses include preposition, segregation, postposition and combining translation. Finally,it summarizes the translation practice. The purpose of this study translation practice report is to improve the translation level of sociological literature by exploring the translation of attributive clauses, and to help readers learn social cognition.
