In recent years, more and more intangible cultural heritages bearing the markers of Chinese culture have taken on new vitality in the tide of globalization and informatization, and have embarked on the step of “going out”,showing the world the charm of Chinese culture.“Porcelain” and “China” are the same word in English. The world knows China through its ceramic, the first commodity to achieve globalization.Based on Chinese Porcelain in Colonial Mexico, the author selected the second chapter “Crafting a Global Brand: Jingdezhen and Its Artisans in the Early Modern World” as the translation task.In the process of dealing with the translation materials, the author encountered a large number of attributive clauses(139 sentences),among which there were 90 restrictive attributive clauses and 49 non-restrictive attributive clauses. In the process of translation, the author analyzes the characteristics and difficulties of attributive clauses in the source text. The complicated semantic and logical relations of these attributive clauses increase the difficulty of translation practice. Therefore, this study will focus on the translation methods of English attributive clauses under the guidance of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory. The author adopts the translation strategies of pre-modifier,division,blending and translating according to the functions to handle the problems in translation practice.Through the study of the translation methods of attributive clauses, the author realizes that in order to translate attributive clauses well, first of all,it is necessary toaccurately understand the original text, clarify the logical relations in attributive clauses, and find the antecedents it modifies. Then,we should flexibly use appropriate translation strategies to handle the attributive clauses according to the specific context of the original text to make a faithful and smooth translation.
