In this report,the translator selects two parts of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City as the English-Chinese translation practice.The book tells the story of eight American families evicted by landlords.Translating the book into Chinese can help readers to know American modern society.So it is significant to translate the book.As we all know that translation needs to be guided by the translation theory,this translation practice is finished under the guidance of the principle of faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance which is put forward by Yan Fu.Meanwhile,the attributive clause,as one kind of the most common clauses in English,is used in all types of English articles.The translation quality of the attributive clause can also reflect the professional level of translators.Based on the translation practice,this paper is going to analyze the translation strategies of the attributive clause.In the original text,the attributive clause is frequently used and in varied types.So the translator summarizes translation methods suitable for different types of attributive clauses in the process of translation.There are some differences between English and Chinese,which arealso discussed in the paper.The report also records the translation practice process and summarizes the translation methods and strategies by analyzing typical cases.The translation practice process can be divided into three steps: pre-translation,process of translation and post-translation.And the method of translating the attributive clause includes: pre-modifier,post-modifier and the combination.Thesemethods are implied to translate different types of attributive clauses.What have been learned from translation practice and paper-writing are to be shared,which will be helpful for translators in the future.It will also be of profound significance for future translation practice.
