Health education is a kind of universal health education facilities to impart health knowledge, cultivate health attitude and train health habits in order to promote people’s health, which has a very important position in health work. However, due to political unrest in modern China, the effect of government on health education was very limited, so the civil society as an alternative played an important role in the dissemination of public health knowledge. Christianity, as an important religious civil society, noticed the backward of the public health and the lack of the health knowledge long before others. So health education gradually attracted the attention of the Chinese Christian community, and the development of health education had also further widened the ways to deliver a sermon, adapting to the needs of missionary work, all of which had prompted health education campaign by Christian missions. In 1910, with the establishment of a national organization of health education, Christian initiated the health education campaign, followed by the city Y.M.C.A., mission hospitals, churches and other local organizations around also joined in, and gradually evolved from publicity general health knowledge to the specific areas. The content and form of health education campaign was rich and varied, not only including health parades, health lectures and health exhibitions, but also carrying out literal campaigns, school health education and child health education. Health education campaign, carried out by the Christian, preached sermons as the center, which has a strong religious overtones. In particular propaganda, the Chinese Christians connected health with nation and regard health as a fundamental power, which in turn makes the movement had a certain nationalism. Although the campaign still inadequate, the efforts of the Chinese Christian community taken on health education should be admitted. Besides, providing some experience and lessons learned, its content and form was inherited by the future health movement.
