Research On The Currency Of The Han Dynasty In Guangdong And Guangxi

Guangdong and Guangxi Province is located in China’s southern border which is the first county area and Sea Silk Road starting point in the Han Dynasty. In years of archaeological excavations often have the currency unearthed, and through it exactly can reflect social economic status in this region. The paper is on the basis of relevant historical data, combined with the results of archaeological excavations, and comprehensive analysis economic status, currency circulation and exchanges with outside of Guangdong and Guangxi in the Han Dynasty. The full text is divided into five parts. The first with the detailed archaeological data, summarizes the location of currency of the Han Dynasty in Guangdong and Guangxi region. At the same time on the basis of literature found the law of the site, then type the major currencies and find out the local characteristics of the Han Dynasty in Guangdong and Guangxi. The second part is pay attention to the research of the currency itself. First, different periods of currency paper has different characteristics, through analysis it inquiry the evolution. Secondly, comparative and analysis the currency of Guangdong and Guangxi region and Mancheng Han tombs, combined with the mark found in Guangxi, finally infers that the activities of coinage may already exist in Guangdong and Guangxi in the Han Dynasty. The third part studies the social economy which is reflected by the study of the currency. Mainly from the lacquer manufacturing industry, bronze dredging industry, pearl casting and city of the Han Dynasty which is related in directly to explore the monetary economy in Guangdong and Guangxi area. The fourth part introduce defray and income the two aspects of currency in social economy. Defray include spending for military expenses, involving local officials salary and government social relief etc. Income is about tax and commodity exchange. Then from the side of money condonable reflect circulation of currency in the social situation, trying to restore the real social economic appearance of Guangdong and Guangxi area in the Han Dynasty. The fifth part is basis on the currency archaeological data in the Southeast Asia and the South Asia countries, discusses the situation of the currency through Guangdong and Guangxi areas into Southeast Asian countries in the Han Dynasty, consider the economic and cultural exchanges between the China and the Southeast Asia, constitute the cultural circle of the round hole currency with together, and demonstration the exchange early of China and surrounding countries.
