With economic globalization, there has been more and more politics, economy, science and technology, culture interaction between every country in the world, which has boosted many sunrise industries. The demand for communication in each field of every country makes different language become the major barrier for development. Increasingly expanding external economic and cultural communication has made a-billion-yuan market of translation and interpretation, in the meantime, many companies serving for translation and interpretation have been emerged. In these fields the author mentions above, the importance of translation of scientific and technological texts stands out. As it is known to all, today’s development is not scientific and technological development, but development of creativity. Therefore, whether a scientific and technological text is well translated relates closely to accuracy and pertinence of companies’investment and innovation.This English text originates from the author’s translation practice during postgraduate life. This book tells us the opportunities and challenges that people may be faced with in the second machine age and specifies today’s emerging inventions.The report is based on Peter Newmark’s theory of text typology. After text features analyzed, the author put forward the major strategy of communicative translation. In the part of text analysis, from the view of words and sentence, the author present several translation methods based on the discrepancies of Chinese and English and adopt some solutions such as adjusting sentence order, converting parts of speech and voice and dealing a long sentence. Finally, the author analyzes and modifies the translation with the help of parallel texts.The article includes five parts:in the first part, the background about why the author translates this book and the details of the book will be mentioned; in the second part, text type will be confirmed and features will be analyzed; in the third part, this English text will be analyzed with translation theories and strategies; in the forth part, the translation skills and other supplementary methods will be used in particular sentences and context; in the fifth part, the author will summarize this article and experience in this translation practice.
