A Study Of Chinese War Film In The New Century

War film plays an important role in China movie history. It was accompanied by the national distress situation gradually, and got into a glorious period after the founding of new China. After entering the new century, with the domestic films began to go on the road of industrialization, the entertaining film was underlined. So war films also began a transformation. Despite the whole condition is not good, there are some works which have certain innovation and getting a good response. This paper wants to make a more systematic combing on the basis of previous research results, and focus on the changes in the new environment. In addition to summarize the successful experience of excellent war movies, this paper also focuses on those little influence and poor performance works, analyze their problems and the reasons.The first part of the article is an overview of war films from the aspects of the number of films, the box office, movie companies, type styles, seeing the imbalance and extreme phenomenon. The second part mainly discusses the theme of war films, comprising of promoting the main values of humanity, taking care of humanity and reflection on the war. The third part main analysis the figures of war films, including images of soldiers, civilians and the villain. The fourth part discusses the narrative features of war movies, including multi perspective narrative, the stylized character and diversified style of narrative. The fifth part focuses on the aesthetic pursuit of war films, one is some prominent features in the image, and the other is the miracle feature of the battle scenes. In the course of the study, this paper uses the method of comparative and synthesis, investigating the war films in the history, synchronic and many other dimensions. One is to research the difference of war films between now and previous, the other is to observe the interaction between the industrial environment and creative practice. The author hopes to provide a theoretical reference for the future war film.
