It is very valuable to design and use warming-up sections in textbooks of TCSL, which makes class teaching more effective. Author investigated those frequently-used domestic integrated textbooks of TCSL and found that some of them have made warming-up which is systematically designed become one component of textbook. However, at present the practice of compiling warming-up sections in textbook of TCSL and the researches on this field is not enough.First, domestic and overseas researches are summarized in this dissertation. Combined those with theories of Education and Psychology, author defined the meaning and significance of warming-up in teaching and put forward the compiling principles of warming-up section in textbook (correlation, interestingness, appropriateness, operability). Then author investigated the design of warming-up sections in three sets of elementary integrated Chinese textbooks. The angles of analysis are presupposed goal, forms, guides of teaching methods, how warming-up’s topic matches new text and diverse skills training involved. Author put emphasis on how warming-up’s topic matches new text’s topic and new language items, summarized the three types of designing topics(direct, indirect and extended) in warming-up sections and discussed how we choose the language items presented in advance and the ways to present them. In this dissertation, there is also an investigation of warming-up activities in class.All of the suggestions proposed are based on analysis of textbook, classes, questionnaires and interview survey are put forward to provide the basis and thoughts for class teaching and let warming-up plays its role better to promote teaching Chinese classes.
