The causes of climate change include both human and natural factors. Since the driving effect that the greenhouse-gas emission resulting from human activities has on climate change can never be ignored, human beings become a significant element of the acceleration of global climate change. The research on climate change is a multi-disciplinary mission in that it is strongly linked to not only the survival and development of human beings, but also the moral concern for nature. Therefore, it is necessary to study climate change from the perspective of ecological ethics. As one of the biggest developing country, China stands its ground and sticks to its principles in the communication of overseas and domestic strategies of how to handle climate change while faced with this severest problem that will not disappear in a short time. From the view of China’s actual conditions and the path fit for the development of China, this paper, combining the theory of ecological ethics and climate change, points out which ecological ethic rules are suitable to tackle this problem under present condition. With correct ecological ethic values, the principle of ecological ethics as the ethic ideology with Chinese characteristics to handle climate change should be implemented by building the concept of sustainable development and the idea of combining duties and benefits, and insisting on the overall harmony of nature. By this way, a solid ecological ethic foundation on how to handle the situation is built, which could accelerate the process of retardation of the development and adaption to the condition, and promote international common understanding and actions. It is a complicated and tough task for China to handle climate change, and also an opportunity to change the development model. In the process of the handling, China must take effective actions while faced with the lack of ecological ethic education and ambiguous understanding of ecological ethic responsibilities. On this regard, under the guidance of a series of feasible ecological ethic concepts, through the exercise of the discourse power on ecological ethic, the enhancement of ecological ethic education, the improvement of the legislation on climate conditions, the promotion of the recyclable low carbon economy mode, the organization of environment protection activities, and the change of human lifestyle and consumption patterns should be completed, which helps accelerate the ecologicalization of climate governance. This paper commits to realizing the long-term goal of climate environment improvement in China on the basis of the adaption to climate change through the research on the combining of ecological ethics and the handling. China will eventually become the pioneer in the handling of climate change and set the moral example of sustainable development for the world.
