A Translation Report On Local Climate Governance In China-Hybrid Actors And Market Mechanisms

This is a project report on the translation of Local Climate Governance in China-Hybrid Actors and Market Mechanisms,which is a scientific and technological text concerning climate governance and CDM(Clean Development Mechanism).Guided by Reiss' text typology,the author determines that the book is an informative text.From lexical and sentence level,translation strategies applicable to such text are discussed,and how these strategies solve difficulties encountered in the translation process is showed,such as the translation of proper nouns,terms,abbreviations,passive sentences as well as complex sentences.The translation practice verifies that Reiss' text typology is helpful for guiding scientific translation.Hopefully,it could be a reference for the translation of related texts later.What's more,the author hopes that this translation project will spread CDM-related knowledge,help Chinese readers to deepen their understanding of the mechanism,arouse people's environmental awareness,and thus contribute to climate protection.The report is divided into four parts.Chapter One is the introduction of the translation project,which includes project background,introduction of the text,as well as objectives and significance of the translation project.Chapter Two is translation processes,which embraces preparations,translation theory,difficulties in the translation and tasks after the translation.Chapter Three is case studies,which lists several translation strategies from the two levels mentioned before.Chapter Four draws a conclusion on experience and lessons the author learned from the translation practice and other problems remaining to be solved.
