This paper focuses on the study of ’guang A jiu B’ pattern.It consists of six parts:the introduction,the outside representation,the semantic meanings,the pragmatic features,the comparison of synonymous structures,the historical evolution.The introduction is mainly about the research significance,present research situation,the research methods,and the corpus source.Chapter 2 studies the outside representation of guang A jiu B’pattern:we divide it to four categories according to whether A and B contain the number of words;we know that A must contain the number of words(appear or hidden),so we can divide it to two categories according to whether B contain the number of words;then we studies A from two angles(grammatical composition and semantic properties);next,we summarize the subject of the sentences;finnally we analysis the syntactic distribtion of the structure.Chapter3 studies the semantic features of ’guang A jiu B’pattern.At first,we analyze the two adverbs’ semantic features;then we analyze the structure’s semantic meanings;at last we analyze the two adverbs’ semantic orientation.Chapter4 mainly studies the pragmatic functions of ’guang A jiu B’ pattern: presupposition,focus point,conversational implication,conversational structure.Finally we conclude that it owns the functions of subjective evaluation,emphasis of focus point,extreme additional information.Chapter5 compares’guang A jiu B’pattern with its related patterns:’jin/dan/zhi A jiu B’ and ’guang A dou B’.Chapter6 mainly discusses the historical evolution of ’guang A jiu B’.firstly,we summarize the gramaticalization of guang and jiu;then we study its synonymous pattern-’zhi A jiu B’;finally we sum up the sentences ’guang’ used with other adverbs in ancient Chinese.
