Xiangtan is in the middle part of Hunan province. It is also in middle reaches of Xiang River.It is one of Golden Triangle city agglomeration. In the future program, it will be a new city whose name is Rong city which concludes Changsha、Xiangtan、Zhuzhou. Xiangtan dialect is a branch of Hunan dialect. The topic of this paper is how many modal particles and how to use modal particles in Xiangtan dialect. Xiangtan has five parts, respectively is:Yuhu, Yue pond area, county and the Xiangxiang, Shaoshan city. But in the previous study, just made a overview of the modal particles in Xiangtan dialect, not partition, modal particles to do the detailed descriptions for each dialect, so this article in an area as the research object, Xiangtan view, in order to better grasp and understanding of the big system of modal particles.This paper can be divided into three chapters. The first chapter is an overview. The main contents of the paper are the brief introduction of the Xiangtan dialect, the study of the mood word in Xiangtan dialect, the classification of the tone word of the Xiangtan dialect, the object, purpose and method of the study. Chapter Two tone words in modern Chinese research contents of the thesis are:source of mood words; the historical changes of mood words; tone word definition; mood word classification; mood word of semantic, grammar and pragmatics. The Third chapter is the meaning and the pragmatic analysis of the mood words in the Xiangtan city rain Lake District. The main contents are:the position and the condition of the mood word, the semantic and the pragmatic analysis of the mood word, the use of the mood word. The last summary, references, etc..Xiangtan dialect plays an important role to impress language and the meaning. During communication, there are many implications which impressed by modal particles.Not only such, Xiangtan dialect modal particles because of its characteristics (including the phonetic and semantic expression), made it to one of the signature of Xiangtan dialect. For example:the modal particles "lai" is usually used in the following situations:1. The speaker thinks expressed by the other or performance, is contrary to their own cognitive situation; 2. The speaker thinks the other party should be done an action, or know something of the truth (real cognition for the speaker). The tone of its expression, contains a rhetorical question, question the tone, and expressed "you should have completed an action, or you should know something of the truth". Such as:"you should have a meal already for rice, (you should have a meal.)" in this sentence, first of all, the other act like it did not eat or expressed the information did not eat, speak second thought is the fact that the other party has finished eating it. Last statement expressed by the speaker, its meaning is "you should have a meal, there is no did not eat this kind of situation", will be destroyed by implication for "don’t you may not have a meal, or don’t you eat ah", the tone with a rhetorical question and doubt.This is just one example of modal particles, in fact, in the life, modal particles "lai" use frequency is very high, different modal particles in different occasions, to express the different tone and its implicit "between the lines". Also because these modal particles, is what makes people express more abundant, also makes the Xiangtan dialect has become a beautiful scenery, Xiangtan dialect became the unique language.
