Study On The Spring & Autumn Annals Style Writing Of Ouyang Xiu

The studies of the systematic learning about the Spring and Autumn Annals in the Northern Song Dynasty grew vigorously, numerous scholars took the ethics of Confucian to explain classics and pay close attention to reality politics and compilation of history. Ouyang xiu was one of the important. He had unique opinions on the Spring and Autumn Annals and Yi, which he took it in specific accounts. As the Five Dynasties is most to the Northern Song Dynasty, which was a period of political crisis, he deeply felt to learn lessons from the history of the Five Dynasties, in order to keep wartime from coming again. Xue Juzheng, in his opinion, who wrote the history book of the Five Dynasties, did not achieve the purpose of this. So, in his new history book of the Five Dynasties, he imitated the Spring and Annals with special presentation to express his views of the Five Dynasties’history, especially in the evaluation on characters which he praise the faith and filial piety and mercilessly castigates the tyrants and treacherous ministers and traitors,which with writing in fact, writing briefly with some principles and writing in a distortion of the facts. In the New Tang Book of himself and Song Qi and others, on the basis of comprehending the Spring and Autumn Annals, he kept flexibility in the use of the style writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals, he cut out a large number of lops of old history and analyzed calmly of the prosperous period of Tang Dynasty. That reflects the original intention of his taking history as a mirror and in order to maintain the song dynasty rule.Up till now, the studies of the style writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals of Ouyang xiu focus on the two history books, but more of them prefer to just pay attention to only one book, rather than gather up threads. This paper bases on the current research and takes the two books together in order to get a more comprehensive understanding the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals of Ouyang xiu and make a more reasonable evaluation of his history.This paper consists of three parts:which are Introduction, Text and Conclusion. Detailed contents as follows:Ⅰ.Introductions comprise the topic source, meaning, review of this research, writing ideas & research methods and paper general framework.Ⅱ.Text is divided to four sections:Chapter one This section first analyze his attitude for the classic of Yi, and his comprehension about the Spring & Autumn Annals, to study his academic trend,which was the ideological basis for the using the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals.Chapter Two This section aims to the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals of the New History of the Five Dynasties, which including writing in fact, writing briefly with some principles and writing in a distortion of the facts, to analyze his evaluation standard for five generations historical figure and the praising good and demoting evil in the book, and understand his defense for the Zhao Song dynasty and warn the later men.Chapter Three This section focuses on the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals of the New Tang Book. As its special principles are not as formal as the New History of the Five Dynasties, this section will change angle of view and charge its gist in the book.Chapter Four This section mainly evaluating in all fairness of the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals of Ouyang xiu. At first, this part analyzes the differences and something in command of the special writing style in the two books. Then, discuss the effect of the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals to the two books and the last is the comprehensive evaluation of it.Ⅲ. Conclusion is a summarization and thinking on the style of writing of the Spring & Autumn Annals of Ouyang xiu.
