Multi-angle Analysis Of The “的(De)”-Phrases On The Base Of Corpus

After collecting some related corpora, this thesis took a multi-analysis of the "DE"-phrases from syntax, semantics and pragmatics. In this paper, we focused our attention on the pragmatic features and meanings of "DE"-phrases on the basis of corpora analyzing for having a comprehensive and profound understanding of "DE"-phrases.This thesis included four parts, which separated into four chapters.The first chapter is preface. We reviewed former studies by respected experts, which included the recent hot issue of "DE"-phrase study. What’s more, we gave a brief introduction about the resources of corpora and study methods we have used in this thesis.In the second chapter, we took a static description of "DE"-phrases. By thoroughly analyzed the corpora, we got a comprehensive understanding of the structural characteristics and syntactic functions. We found there is a very special characteristic of the X part (here using X+DE structure to represent DE-phrases), which showed that it was concentrated on some specific words and phrases. Besides, the frequencies of occurrences were not even between different literary forms.In the third chapter, we analyzed the semantic features of the "DE"-phrases and their reference features in the specific contexts. According to the corpora analyzing, we found the distribution characteristics of semantic features were related to the distribution of the X part. Hence, we concluded the result of the reference features of the "DE"-phrases.In the fourth chapter, we focused on the pragmatic function. Through a combination of context, situational context and cultural context, we found that "DE"-phrases have the function of referring to the context of cohesion. By contrasted the literal style to the legal language, we summed up pragmatic features and effects of the "DE"-phrases. Moreover, we had a statistical analysis of the emotional color which was revealed in the context. Here are the results:only "DE"-phrase which referred to person can reveal the emotional color, and they are given by specific context. In addition, we studied the using conditions of abiding by and against session communication principles.In the last chapter, we made a conclusion of the whole study and pointed out the shortcomings.The innovative point of this thesis is that all of the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic analyses were basedon the corpora. It concluded that there is a connection between syntactic and semantic distributions, and the "DE"-phrases in the poetries, proses, dramas, novels and other literal works have their own characteristics. Especially, about the analyses of the pragmatic effects, we found there were three effects:energy-saving effects in language using; stress effects in rhetoric; and pause effects in syllables.
