The Comparison Between Pre-qin Aesthetics Thinking And The Ancient Greek Aesthet Ics Thinking Begin With Miao And Jiao Which From Lao Tzu

Chinese thinkers are showing a keen interest in ’Miao’ and ’experience the Miao’ since Lao Tsu proposed the concept of ’Miao’. They turn it to be aesthetics category by constantly a deep exposition and extension. As the aesthetics concept,’Miao’has very important influence to Chinese art’s aesthetics and art theory in three thousand years. Although the Tao Te Ching proposed the ’Jiao’ too, it has not further elaboration and play in the field of Chinese aesthetics. In the core of the culture of the pre-qin scholars, their aesthetic attitude is ’pay attention to the Miao, ignore the Jiao’, which is influenced the beginning period of the classical aesthetics theory system directly. I think it is because of the differences in aesthetic attitude between the two, leading to the classical Chinese aesthetics starting from the concept of ’Miao’ and building a new system, which as ’macro feeling’ as aesthetic means and opposed to ’beauty and kind’. The system of the ancient Greek aesthetics begins with ’experience the Jiao’ and as ’micro master’ as aesthetic means, they pursuit of truth and beauty. The Chinese aesthetics system is so different with it.The thesis is divided into four parts. The introduction begin with the description about ’Miao’ and ’Jiao’ from Tao Te Ching (Lao Tsu), and describe the unique phenomenon about Chinese pre-qin aesthetics promote the ’Miao’ but ignore the "Jiao", then I get the assuming about the comparison between pre-qin and ancient Greek aesthetic should begin from epistemology.I write the nature of Chinese aesthetics’ Miao, which is beauty hybrid with kindness, by combing the influence of explaining the ’Miao’ in chapter one. This explaination is expounding the characteristics of the highest standard of’kindness’and the starting point of epistemology of ’Miao’ in pre-qin aesthetics.In second chapter, I compare differences between the theory of art originated from nature come from Heraclitus and the theory of ’Tao’ come from Lao Tsu, and I write the characteristic about ’experience Jiao’ as the starting point of thinking of ancient Greek aesthetic. Then I describe the aesthetic form of basing on the logic of the truth and truth as the highest standard. I describe the similar characteristics between ancient Greek aesthetic and pre-qin aesthetic which is hybrid with moral standard, so turn the comparison to the field of epistemology.The third chapter is the epilogue part,Ⅰ focus on the comparison of aesthetics thinking between ancient Greek aesthetic and pre-qin. By comparing their languages, nature, society and culture,I comb their origins and differences.
