Wuthering Heights is a novel written by Emily Bronte, which has been known as one of the greatest works in the Victorian era. The novel intertwines not only love and hatred, but also has great aesthetic values. So far, a large number of scholars have studied Wuthering Heights. Some of them focus on the work itself; some study it from the angle of translation. With regard to the studies of its Chinese translation, most of scholars tend to study from the skopos theory, functional equivalence theory, domestication and foreignization, feminist consciousness, translators’subjectivity, text analysis model, polysystem theory, discourse cohesion and so forth. In view of this, the author tries to study Chinese translations of Wuthering Heights from the perspective of translation aesthetics. "Born as a new translation theory in contemporary times, translation aesthetics expands the essence of traditional translation theory and transforms it scientifically by discarding and inheriting, making it a new theoretical energy to solve the new application subject." (Liu Miqing,2011:15)In Liu Miqing’s theory of translation aesthetics, the language beauty of translation aesthetics involves aesthetic constituent of form system and aesthetic constituent of non-form system. Aesthetic constituent of form system refers to studies from the aspect of sound, lexis, and syntax and the non-form system refers to studies from the aspect of emotion, tenacity, aesthetic feeling and image. The author will choose two Chinese versions translated by Fang Ping and Yang Yi respectively.Based on the aesthetic constituent of form system and a lot of examples, the author first appreciates the aesthetic value of the original text, and then makes a comparaison of the two Chinese translations to observe and analyze how the translated versions represent the aesthetic value of the original text. On the whole, the author discovers that both versions are satisfactorily handled, although Yang Yi’s translation is a little bit better than that Fang Ping in terms of the representation of aesthetic values. Thus, on the one hand, translation and aesthetics are well combined, which not only conforms to the requirements of interdiscipline in translation but also has bright prospects, widening the horizon and enhancing the level of translation; on the other hand, the effective explanatory power of translation aesthetics in literary translation can be demonstrated, meanwhile, the Chinese translations are improved constantly, which promotes the popularity of the novel, so that we are more sure of the practical significance of translation aesthetics in Chinese translation.
