A Study Of Liu Zongyuan’s Biao And Qi Text

Liu Zongyuan has been well known to the public for a long time because of his classic Chinese proses. However, less people know that he also has large amounts of masterpieces in his parallel prose. As an eminent classical writer, there are many significant differences between Liu Zongyuan and other traditional parallel-prose writers’ works, especially in artistic and the expression of the content. On the whole,Liu Zongyuan’s Parallel prose express a kind of trend of parallel-folk joint. This article focusing on his Biao and Qi, tries to reveals the outstanding achievement and special status of Liu Zongyuan’s parallel prose as well as possible.The article is totally divided into four parts.The first part introduces the background of Liu Zongyuan’s parallel style of Biao and Qi. The first part reveals the inner motivation that makes Liu Zongyuan creat a large number of parallel prose from his literary thoughts and personal life experience,and then analysis and hackles the long-time evolution of style of Biao and Qi in order to make reader to understand the type and fashion of Biao and Qi before Liu Zongyuan’s period. The second part makes a brief explanation for the content and feelings of Liu Zongyuan’s Biao and Qi on the basis of the classification of text content. This article make a necessary analysis and summary on his works number、time and writing model of each category of Biao and Qi, and dig into the further emotion implications simultaneously. The third chapter is the core of the article. In this part, It mainly researches the innovation of art that made by Liu Zongyuan from the traditional parallel prose form, attempt to elucidate the personalized artistic features and the technique of parallel-folk joint in Liu’ Zongyuan’s Biao and Qi. The fourth part uses historical comparative research method to traces the art source of Liu Zongyuan’s parallel prose and its special status in the history of parallel prose development.
