Probbing Into The Performance Art Of ZhongRuan In Silk String Quintet

This thesis dissertates on the Silk String Quintet of Chinese national chamber music. By the analysis result with the four pieces of Silk String Quintet, oriented from 《Tian Tou Lian Wu》,《Momeries》,《Spring of Tian Mountain》 and 《Xiao Ban》. This article will focus on ZhongRuan specifically and illustrate the role of ZhongRuan in the four pieces of Silk String Quintet, read as characteristic of Silk String Quintet performing and role of ZhongRuan in Silk String Quintet performance. From a perspective of performing skill to analyze role and emphasis of ZhongRuan to Silk String Quintet, in order to provide some theoretic guidance to Silk String Quintet creation and performing.The dissertation is comprised of 5 chapters. Chapter 1:The introduction of the four pieces of Silk String Quintet, covering their composing background, philosophy and structure. Chapter 2:The relation between ZhongRuan and Silk String Quintet, and gives analysis to the four pieces of Silk String Quintet from various aspects of performance practices, melodic rules, composing techniques, tone-color and texture. Chapter 3:To demonstrate the combination of the music between ZhongRuan and Silk String Quintet, by the analysis result with the aspects to perform and exploratory analysis:"Know", "Listen" and "Action".
