Multi-angle Analysis On The Adverb Of Degree "Chao"

"chao" is the research object in this paper as a new usage of the adverbs of degree. In this paper, we used the method of combination of description and explanation, the longitudinal linkage and horizontal linkage, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, synchronic and diachronic, to investigate the degree adverb "chao" comprehensively and explore the reasons of the emergence and development, the features in the semantic, pragmatic, grammar and other aspects, the differences and connections between new adverbs and adverbs of traditional norms, so as to provide certain help to the new words, the new usage of language, improving human understanding of neologisms, and also provide some evidence for the proposal and the related theory.The first part propose the research goal as the degree adverb "chao", points out the research significance of the paper, research status of adverbs and "chao" both at home and abroad, finally summarizes the research methods used in this paper and the corpus source.The second part, on the syntactic features of the adverb of degree "chao" is analyzed, which is divided into two parts, one is the analysis of the characteristics of sentence, degree adverb "chao" used in the two kind of sentence "chao+bu/mei V/Ap" and "chao+you/mei V/Ap", this paper mainly discussed the limit the key factors for entering the form; another is the modification of component is analyzed, mainly including modify verbs, adjectives and nouns.The third part focuses on the analysis of the semantic features of "chao", this part is divided into two major sections:the first plate is the analysis of semantic level of it, by drawing on the previous semantic analysis of adverb of degree level, we identify the degree level of "chao" between "high" and "extremely high", and tend to "extremely high" level; the second plate is to analyse its grammatical meaning which is the meaning of increment and excess, through the research of illustrative sentences, we found that, in some sentences, the meaning "chao" expressed is no longer the meaning of increment, but the meaning of excess, through the analysis, we find out that the causes of this phenomenon has four factors:the semantic features of the modified word, speaker’s attitude, reference standard of objective aspect and the related sentence patterns. "chao Ap" has only one representation of incremental grammatical meaning, but in the specific usage and environment, there are two kinds of usage, thus has two semantic tendency.The fourth part, the pragmatic features of the adverb of degree "chao" is analyzed, including the subjective communication characteristics in the process of using, and the features in its type of writing and the presupposition.The fifth part, mainly analyse the produce and the development factors analysis of the adverb of degree "chao". From the view of internal factors, which mainly including the "chao" has a degree adverb usage in ancient Chinese, and the influence of Guangzhou dialect. In addition, the wear and newer phenomenon of language communication in the process of language and the economic principle promoted the emergence and development of "chao"; from external factors, the influence of foreign language, media development tools, and the curiosity of language users also provides various conditions and platform for the adverb of degree "chao".The sixth part is compared from the angle of transverse, analyse the difference and connection between the adverbs "chao" and "chaoji", the traditional degree adverb "hen" and other emerging adverbs of degree.
