The splashing color’development is based on the splash-ink painting techniques,not only has the characteristics of Chinese classical aesthetics and deep national spirit,but also combine with western abstract thinking,light and color painting idea,enriching the connotation of Chinese traditional painting,greatly exert the power of gorgeous color.Splashing color has profound historical origin,after a long-time evolution,it has formed in late 20th century finally,the representative painter has Zhang Daqian,Liu haisu,Xie Zhiliu,He Haixia and so on,with their efforts,the splashing color experienced more than 100-year of development,it has achieved high artistic achievement,and occupies the position of very important role in the contemporary art world.Zhang Daqian and Liu Haisu as the representative of the splashing color painting,their splashing color’s formation influenced by many aspects,including inherit and carry forward the traditional painting,infiltration of western painting thoughts,the effect of personality characteristics,promoted by the artistic thought and inspired by art experience and so on,and the impacts created two different styles of splashing color painting.Zhang Daqian and Liu Haisu’s creation can be divided into three stages,Zhang Daqian copied paintings at the early stage,innovation at the middle stage,foundation for the formation and development of splashing color.Liu Haisu paint the oil painting at the early stage,oil painting and traditional painting at the middle stage,it has the trend of fusion of Chinese and Western,his splashing formed at the late stage,and officially embarked on the road of Chinese and Western fusion.The two people have their own unique performance technique and painting theory in splashing color.The splashing color of Zhang Daqian always adhere to maintain the traditional technique and theories,and Western abstract thinking,using the theory of Western color.Using the pen and ink vividly,and weakening the use of line,color fresh and elegant,enhanced the color blending,highlighting the abstract hazy picture effect.Liu Haisu committed to oil painting in the early stage,after he return,he gradually move towards the fusion of Chinese and Western road,leaving obvious traces of Western painting in his splashing color.The use of pen and ink,Liu Haisu stressed the pen center in order to highlight the sense of strength,color is gorgeous,with large amount of water,the traces of water obviously.Zhang Daqian inherited the classical splashing color’s composition features,the painting forms an organic whole rigorously,and Liu Haisu’s splashing color’s composition has a strong randomness,has rich changes.Overall,Zhang Daqian present a free and easy mood in his splashing color painting,Liu Haisu’s splashing color painting is romantic,has stronger visual impact.Their splashing color not only achieve their personal value,but also create social value,and the influence to art world is profound.Based on the comparative study of the splashing color techniques and theories about Zhang Daqian and Liu Haisu,we can have a more clear understanding of the two people’s construction of painting techniques and theories,understand the evolution and development law of splashing color and put forward the prospects for the future development of splashing color.
