Translation is not only a kind of language transformation, but also a cultural transformation. Generally speaking, there are two basic translation strategies in the cultural transformation: the target language-culture-oriented domestication and the source language-culture-oriented foreignization. Domestication is to change many features of the original text to express the content of the original text in the way of thinking that the readers are accustomed to, which makes the author get close to the target readers; foreignization requires the target readers to get close to the author, the translator should convey the content of the original text in the same expressive way as the author. The enormous cultural differences between the source language and the target language result in the insurmountable obstacles in translation. This thesis mainly expounds the analysis of the translation strategies from the perspective of culture. At the beginning, this thesis presents the significance and necessity of the study, the sample collection and the research methodology, and then deals with the definition of domestication and foreignization, the relation between the culture and the translation, and the literature review, and also analyzes the translation difficulties brought by the cultural differences including the vocabulary vacancy, the different cultural focus and the pragmatic meaning, moreover, some literature translation examples were chosen from the prose who influence and change me? written by Bai Yansong to discuss the application of domestication and foreignization in the translated text, at last, puts forward some views about the translation, which is of a certain referential significance for the further study of cultural translation theory and the literary translation practice.
