Since modern times especially in the period of late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,the arrival of the western colonists and the invasion of Japanese for Hainan Island have provided convenience for the European and Japanese scholars to enter Hainan Island and have appealed a lot of scholars to do investigation and research in the Li nationality area which is the hinterland of Hainan Island, resulting in the emergence of a number of controversial academic achievements.
