A Practice Report On English Translation Of Chinese Legal Academic Texts On Legal

With the social progress and rapid development of economy, the communication between China and other countries in the world is becoming more and more frequent than ever before, law plays quite an important role in people’s life. People are increasingly focusing on the law, and their awareness is also growing. As an important national framework, law plays a considerable important role in the economy of one country or even the general operation of a country. Increasing countrywide even worldwide communication exert a higher demand on translators. Then how to cultivate outstanding translator talents is also an issue that needs to be dealt with today. In order to meet the demands of social development, our universities established the degree of MTI timely to cultivate translators. It is worth mentioning that traditional translation practice works such like translation criticism and appreciation, translation theory and techniques, classics translation and media translation spring up continually, however, the number of legal academic texts translation is rather limited.Nowadays there are quite a large number of laws in the world, so as the translation versions, but mistranslation phenomenon also exist. Thus it does not convey the original thoughts, but may mislead readers, different translation methods emerge in one passage. According to the above problems, this thesis paper takes legal research on ecological environment protection as instances, conclude translation criterion of law academic texts; lastly, it summarize clear and reasonable translation strategies, that is just the research aim of this thesis paper.This practice report takes task description; case analysis and translation strategies of Chinese-English legal translation as the main line, and analyzes features of law academic texts and shows translation strategies. By looking through lots of law materials, the author explores that how to translate Chinese law academic texts more smoothly, so as to make some suggestions for translation practice later.
