Hans Coper is a famous contemporary ceramic artist.When in 1946,he carried the dream of arts and came to the Albion Mews pottery factory.With the help of Lucie Rie,he opened pottery road.Hans Coper spend all his life in make-up soil ceramic works research.He broke the traditional method of glazing,in a manner of painting decorative.Selecting the local mud Morgan refractories,without modifiy the essence of material itself,he completely unfolded.Not only in brushing mud and firing,but also in polishing method,he has its own unique way.Early from na?ve rigid lines,gradually enriched heavy convey to the final revelation ethereal mood,layers by layers,and constantly self-break and beyond the self,to the later establishment of a new self.Late blank creative mood has transcended the purely decorative make-up soil,in a mood throughout the work among a breath,are closely related.There are humility,honesty and beauty in Hans Coper’s vessels.Without too much flowery language to conceal the nature of practical,simple and robustness of the artifacts reflect the true side.In this article,through Hans Coper creative background,and influence the artist at the same time as influence on the start make-up soil to Hans Coper ceramic works in each period,for example,to analyze its characteristics and decorative art craft,through the interpretation of the make-up soil and thus with the combination of my own ceramic works,I explored the devoted to my creation in the future.
