Research On The Time Study In Andrei Tarkovsky’s Nostalgia

This study focuses on the movie nostalgia directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, and explores the matter of time in the movie from the following three aspects. First of all, the time showing of the movie is classified and analyzed. Secondly, the combined connection modes of different time segments are researched. Finally, it discusses the deployment of time overall. And the above contents will be discussed in a logical manner. For the purpose of better understanding of Tarkovsky’s idea on movie time, the study elaborates the ontological question of movie(personal time flow of Tarkovsky), the narrative form of movie(poetic film of Tarkovsky), and the ultimate meaning beyond the overall time. Based on the movie Nostalghia, it not only probes into the movie time in multi-dimension, but researches other works of the director and his overall creative concept. Compared to other directors, we will have a better and deeper understanding of the movie time of Tarkovsky.
